BBC Shakespeare on CD-ROM was the title of a series of CD-ROMs co-produced by the BBC and HarperCollins Publishers, and published by BBC Multimedia. Three titles were released; Romeo and Juliet on 12 June 1996, A Midsummer Night’s Dream on 2 July 1996 and Macbeth on 28 September 1996.

The CD-ROM contains extracts from the BBC TV Shakespeare, along with the full text of the play, notes, full audio version and a wealth of supplementary information and illustrations.

The CD-ROM includes around 30 minutes of video clips from the classic BBC TV production of the play, a full audio performance, additional extracts from the BBC TV and radio archives, information on the life and times of Shakespeare (including the rebuilt Globe), and background material covering many aspects of performance. There is also a wealth of pictures from such sources The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust and the Shakespeare Archive at Birmingham City Library.
